GRANT RESEARCH AND WRITING
Funder Research – Conduct research on grantors (foundations, other grant making nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and corporations) to identify prospective funders for project, operating needs, capacity building, and capital funding resulting in a grants research spreadsheet and calendar of prospective deadlines.
Grant Request and Other Narrative Document Drafting – Prepare letters of inquiry, concept papers, applications, proposals, cover letters, and other necessary documents for submission to funders.
Proposal Budget Drafting – Prepare grant proposal budgets and other required financial documents in concise formats that meet funders’ needs.
Grant Request Status Tracking – Produce and update spreadsheets documenting the status of grant requests: funded, pending, planned, and declined.
Grant Reporting – Draft interim and final narrative, financial reports and informal updates to funders.
GRANTEE AND FOUNDATION COUNSEL
Funder Cultivation and Stewardship Counsel – Advise on building and maintaining relationships with specific funders, from initial contact through grants management.
Joint Grant Seeking Coordination – Advise on structuring and implementing coalitions with other groups and conducting other joint grant seeking efforts.
Foundation Counsel and Grantee Mentor – Evaluate proposals to fund local, regional, national and international development projects, assuring funds go to nonprofit enterprises with clear missions and visions, program plans that meet well-documented needs and transparent management systems; coach grantees; and serve as a liaison to the foundation.
